Paragon, a two-level Brooklyn nightclub servicing DJs, producers, and parties since 2022, will reportedly close this year.
According to a recent Instagram post from the club (see below), Paragon is set to shutter its doors in April. In their brief statement, the venue’s team claimed that despite “running a venue with some of the world’s best people, we simply cannot afford the financial reality of this industry in 2025.” They went on to announce the business was officially up for sale, thanking supporters, artists, and workers for all their effort, and asking fans to drop by to pay their respects in the weeks ahead.
Owned by John Barclay, who is also behind the similarly esteemed Bossa Nova Civic Club, the 5,000 square-foot venue opened in 2022 beneath the J/M/Z lines at Broadway and Ditmars Avenue on the border of Bushwick and Bed-Stuy where Venus in Furs used to be. “We’re making an effort to kind of change things up a little bit. Not unlike what was happening in Palladium, Studio 54, Paradise Garage, where there’s a person connecting with the actual crowd throughout the night. It’s a more classic take on dance music,” Barclay explained to Resident Advisor upon opening the club.
Though a precise end date has yet to be announced, Paragon appears committed to hosting crowds until it closes or is sold. There are a dozen parties and events remaining on their calendar. You can grab tickets to them via RA today.
