Amazon One Medical, Montefiore Health to open primary care sites

Amazon One Medical is planning to open primary care offices with Montefiore Health System in New York in 2026.

The primary care offices will offer same- and next-day appointments, onsite lab services and virtual care support, according to a Wednesday news release. Amazon One Medical and Montefiore plan to open multiple locations over the next several years and will work together to pick them, a One Medical spokesperson said.

The offices will be staffed by One Medical care teams who will have access to Montefiore’s network of specialists, hospitals and other facilities, the spokesperson said. Montefiore Health, headquartered in the Bronx, New York, operates 10 hospitals and more than 200 outpatient sites, plus the Albert Einstein College of Medicine.

Executives were not made available for interviews.

One Medical has similar deals with other health systems. In October, the company announced a collaboration with Cleveland Clinic to open a primary care office in Northeast Ohio this year, with plans to open additional locations in the next few years. One Medical also has partnerships with Boston-based Mass General Brigham, Hartford, Connecticut-based Hartford Healthcare and Edison, New Jersey-based Hackensack Meridian Health, among others.

Amazon rebranded its health business Amazon One Medical in June. The tech giant acquired One Medical in 2023 for $3.9 billion. In April, One Medical CEO Trent Green outlined plans for more clinics and health system collaborations. One Medical operates roughly 200 clinics in more than 20 markets, in addition to its virtual care platform.
