A brush fire that first sparked in the affluent Pacific Palisades neighborhood Tuesday has now spread widely across Southern California, leaving nearly 3,000 acres of destruction in its wake. Through the night, firefighters have been battling additional blazes, the Eaton and Hurst fires, in Los Angeles County amidst an intense windstorm that likely caused the fires. Governor Gavin Newsom has declared a state of emergency and close to 100,000 residents are under mandatory evacuation orders. Below are live updates about the destructive wildfires.
