Broadway producer sells West Village home in steady week for luxury market

A Broadway producer’s time in the West Village has reached its finale.

Jordan Roth, the son of bigwig real estate developer Steve Roth and theater owner Daryl Roth, has sold his West Village condo after listing it for $19.9 million in January. It was the most expensive asking price of the 29 luxury units that went under contract last week, according to the weekly market report from Olshan Realty.

The younger Roth bought the 4,100-square-foot condo — a combined two units in a 17-story building on West 12th Street — for a little more than $13 million in 2010 from the building’s developer. But he, along with his husband Richie Jackson, a talent manager and producer, invested in the three-bedroom home. A gut renovation raised the ceiling height and added wraparound stone seating to the living room, according to a 2016 profile in Elle Decor.

Deborah Grubman, the agent for Corcoran who listed the property, declined to comment. The buyer and final sale price are not publicly available until documents related to the sale appear in city records.

The number of luxury units — those asking $4 million or higher —  under contract increased by just two from the first week of April to the second, according to the Olshan report. The sales volume in asking prices totaled a little more than $213 million for the week of April 7 to 13, up about 13% from the seven days previous.

The second-most-expensive listing under contract in the April 7-to-13 period was a three-bedroom condo in a 2022 building on West 57th Street that was advertised for $17.3 million. The 4,500-square-foot apartment offers a direct elevator, Central Park views, a lap pool in the building and daily complimentary breakfast.

In 2009 Jordan Roth became the president and a majority stakeholder of Jujamcyn Theaters, which operates five Broadway venues. In 2023 the company merged with Ambassador Theatre Group. Roth sold his stake in a deal valued at $308 million and is currently the creative director of ATG Entertainment, the company formed by the merger. Roth has won multiple Tony awards for his productions, including the 2018 revival of Angels in America.

Roth’s father is the CEO of Vornado Realty Trust, New York’s second-largest commercial landlord. Steve Roth was worth about $1.1 billion in 2019, according to estimates from Forbes. Jordan’s mother, Daryl, meanwhile has won 13 Tony awards as a Broadway producer, including for productions of Kinky Boots and August: Osage County. She owns the Daryl Roth Theatre on East 15th Street.
