Frank Carone, Top Aide to Mayor Adams, Arrested In Migrant Shelter Bribery Scheme

Frank Carone, one of former Mayor Eric Adams’ top aides and a longtime powerbroker with the Brooklyn Democratic machine, was arrested this morning on federal charges related to an alleged bribery scheme involving a migrant shelter contract, The City Reporter has learned.

Carone, who served as Adams’ chief of staff before leaving City Hall to form a lobbying firm, is one of Adams’ longest running backers, supporting him for years as a lawyer for the Kings County Democratic Committee as Adams rose from state Senate to Brooklyn Borough President to City Hall.

Several others besides Carone, including his brother, Anthony, a lawyer in Carone’s law firm Abrams Fensterman, were also charged. Specifics of the charges filed against him are expected to be revealed later this morning. Carone and his co-defendants are set to be arraigned this afternoon.
