Governor Cuomo Raises Unprecedented $1.5 million in 13 Days in Race for NYC Mayor

Poised to Qualify for Matching Program with $332,350 in Eligible Contributions 

Combined private and public matching funds ultimately net over 

$4.1 Million Pending Campaign Finance Board Approval 

Governor Andrew M. Cuomo’s New York City Mayoral campaign today announced it raised a record-shattering $1,515,843.75 in just 13 days since declaring his candidacy.

Cuomo, who entered the race for Mayor March 1, reported contributions from 2,821 individuals in less than two weeks, including $332,350 in matching funds. Pending approval by the city Campaign Finance Board, the overall haul for this period under the city’s matching program would be $4,174,643.75.

“I’ve been humbled by the depth and breadth of the outpouring of support we’ve received upon entering this race,” Governor Cuomo said.  “New York is the greatest city in the world and those who live here deserve a New York that is better, stronger, safer and more affordable than the New York we have today.”

The Governor’s campaign anticipates reaching the maximum allowable fundraising cap by the next fundraising filing deadline.

This record-breaking fundraising period has added more momentum to Governor Cuomo’s campaign for Mayor of New York City.

On Sunday, Governor Cuomo received the endorsement of Rodneyse Bichotte Hermelyn, chair of the Brooklyn Democratic Party.  Brooklyn has the most registered democrats of any county in the nation. She joins U.S. Rep. Ritchie Torres, former New York State Comptroller Carl McCall, former Bronx Borough President Ruben Diaz Jr., Assembly Member Latrice Walker, Assembly Member Erik Dilan, Assembly Member William Colton, Assembly Member Charles Fall, Assembly Member Eddie Gibbs, Assembly Member Yudelka Tapia, Assembly Member Jordan Wright, Assembly Member Stacey Pheffer Amato, Assembly Member Sam Berger, Assembly Member Vivian Cook, Council Member Kamillah Hanks, Council Member Susan Zhuang, Council Member Farah Louis, Council Member Darlene Mealy, former Brooklyn Democratic Party Chairman Frank Seddio, Brooklyn Democratic Party Vice Chair Henry Butler, 30 other District Leaders across the city, Staten Island Democratic Party, former National Director of the Anti-Defamation League Abe Foxman, New York City Deputy Sheriffs’ Benevolent Association, Teamsters Local 237, Local 3 IBEW, New York City and Vicinity District Council of Carpenters, District Council 9 of the International Union of Painters and Allied Trades, the Village Reform Democratic Club, American Jewish Congress, and the Italian American Leadership Council in endorsing Governor Cuomo for mayor of New York City.
