Here’s Everyone You Can See for Free at BRIC’s 2025 ‘Celebrate Brooklyn’ Festival

If your summer plan needed some juice, BRIC may have just provided the battery. The non-profit arts organization has announced the return of their annual Celebrate Brooklyn festival at the Prospect Park bandshell, and the line-up is brimming with star-powered benefit concerts, free shows, and activities.

The festival kicks off on Monday, June 9, with a paid benefit show featuring the incomparable Grace Jones and Janelle Monáe. June also features six free shows, including performances from Mélissa Laveaux, The Klezmatics, BRIC’s third annual Juneteenth celebration, Habibi Festival, and a screening of the documentary The Greatest Night in Pop in the first of two tributes to the late Quincy Jones. In July, the festival continues with a trio of benefits—Still Woozy on July 12, Dinosaur Jr. on July 17, and Men I Trust on July 18. The second Quincy Jones salute, a free screening of The Wiz, will be held on July 26. And in August, you can see Emily Johnson, Adrian Quesada, and a Lyricist Lounge anniversary show (with performers still to be announced) before the festival closes with a celestial strain of r&b from Nick Hakim and a DJ set from drummer and producer Karriem Riggins.
