Albany’s Leading Public Affairs Expert Hired as Partner to Expand Bluejacket’s New York Footprint
Albany, NY – Bluejacket Strategies today announced longtime Albany public affairs strategist Morgan Hook has joined the firm as a Partner and head of its new Albany office. Founded in 2013, Bluejacket Strategies is one of New York’s leading public affairs firms.
Bluejacket’s Albany office will focus on leading campaigns that blend media relations, advertising and digital strategy for clients, bringing deep experience in the energy, environmental and higher education policy areas.

Prior to joining Bluejacket, Hook launched and then led the Albany office for SKDK for 13 years, where he also co-led the Energy & Clean Tech vertical. Before that, he was head of communications for the State University of New York (SUNY), serving as chief spokesperson for Chancellor Nancy Zimpher, and previously communications director for New York Governor David Paterson. Hook began his career as an award-winning television journalist, and was nominated for an Emmy by the Washington, D.C., chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences for his work as a documentary producer.
Hook is one of Albany’s the most high-profile pundits. He is a frequent guest analyst for Albany’s top public affairs broadcasts, including Capital Tonight, The Capitol Pressroom and Empire State Weekly, as well as providing insight in publications including the Times Union, City & State, and NPR. Hook regularly is listed on City & State’s Albany Power 100.
