Upcoming Housing and Land Use-Related Events:

Tuesday, May 6 at 9:30 a.m.: The NYC Landmarks Preservation Commission will meet regarding several applications, including consideration of landmark designation for the Modulightor Building Apartment Duplex at 246 East 58th St. in Manhattan, which was designed by Paul Rudolph. More here.

Tuesday, May 6 at 9:45 a.m.: The State Senate’s Social Services Committee will meet regarding a bill that would do away with the requirement that a tenant have a court proceeding initiated against them to qualify for rental assistance, among other proposals. More here.

Tuesday, May 6 at 2:30 p.m.: The State Senate’s Cities 1 Committee will meet regarding a bill that would change how Area Median Income, or AMI, is calculated for affordable housing programs in New York City, among other proposals. More here.

Tuesday, May 6, 2 to 5 p.m.: The Department of City Planning will hold a meeting to collect public feedback on the Last-Mile Facility Text Amendment, a proposed zoning change that would create a Special Permit for new warehouses that deliver goods and packages to consumers. More here.

Wednesday, May 7 at 10 a.m.: The City Planning Commission will meet to vote on the following land use applications: The Coney Development, 109 Marcus Garvey Boulevard LSGD, 1919 Hylan Boulevard, and Henry Kaufmann Campgrounds – SNAD. The Commission will hold public hearings on applications for: 47 Hall Street Rezoning, Carmen Villegas Apartments – Senior Housing, and the Midtown South Mixed-Use Plan. More here.

Thursday, May 8, 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.: City & State will host the 2025 Affordable Housing Summit, a day of panel discussions, workshops, and presentations from experts and stakeholders. More here.

Thursday, May 8 at 4 p.m.: NYCHA will hold a virtual public hearing over Zoom on its proposal to demolish and rebuild the Fulton and Elliott-Chelsea Houses in Manhattan. More here.

NYC Affordable Housing Lotteries Ending Soon: The New York City Department of Housing Preservation and Development (HPD) is closing lotteries on the following subsidized buildings over the next week.

Riseboro TPT Ten, Brooklyn, for households earning between $50,949 – $120,540

811 Elsmere Place Apartments, Bronx, for households earning between $83,006 – $227,500
