Piazza Italia inaugurates the new headquarters of Times Square

A new house in the heart of Times Square, overlooking Manhattan skyscrapers. Piazza Italia, the platform that has been supporting Italian companies in the United States for five years, has inaugurated its new headquarters with an evening between friends, partners and faces who accompanied its path. A party to celebrate a milestone that in New York is not discounted.

“Our model has always been supporting the Italian community and companies”, said Marco Giovanelli, vice president of Piazza Italia, welcoming guests. «We open shops, distribute products, we have offices, and this is our new headquarters». The building houses two floors: the twenty-second, dedicated to offices, showroom and logistics, the triple of the space that welcomed the evening, and the plan that Giovanelli called the social club, thought as a meeting place.

Five years old, he recalled, are many for a new venture in New York. “I’ve been here for 20 years and I know how difficult it is for all of us to do it,” he said, in front of a audience made up of partners, customers and collaborators. “We want to create a community for business, because it is in this we believe”. The new headquarters has opened the doors for just three weeks, and already, it has observed, it feels the effect of what they are building.

The evening had the taste of a return to the 1980s, with a menu inspired by the Milan of that decade and music to do as a background. Among the guests, in addition to New York and Universal Marketing, there were several other partners of the initiative, including ITA Airways, who joined forces at the party with Piazza Italia.

Roberto Cuesta, director of ITA Airways for the United States and Canada, claimed the value of feeling part of the community and recalled the expansion of the company in North America, with the flight to Houston just launched.

To close the greetings was the Consul General of Italy in New York, Giuseppe Pastorelli, for five months in the city. “I’m a new friend, because I’ve only been here for five months, but every time he opens a new business is good news,” he said. The sense of a project like this, he observed, is precisely to know the market, offer spaces but also councils, and build a community. Then, among the applause, the cut of the tape.

Behind the feast, the idea remains that of the origins: giving Italian companies a support point in a city where competition is fierce and where, alone, it is difficult to last. With the new headquarters of Times Square, Piazza Italia tries to give that community an address to be found.

We thank the brand sponsors who animated the evening with their products: Old Fashion, Rega, Sprizzer and Gava.
