Want to Go to This New Williamsburg Club? Apply Online First.

As if Brooklyn nightlife wasn’t already getting too exclusive for its own good, a new Williamsburg club is adding yet another barrier to entry.

Unveiled, an ironically named new nightclub at the William Vale Hotel on North 13th Street, opened in January 2025. But waiting on line alone probably won’t get you in. According to a recent report from the New York Post, the club requires aspiring attendees to apply for entry on their website, as if for a job, before being considered for a spot on the list. A “panel of public relations and marketing experts” then vets the applicants based on social presence and general “vibe,” approving about 350 of the 1,000 submissions per night. The kicker: even if you are approved, admission isn’t guaranteed, as there is an additional vibe screening at the door, and the club only fits 200 people.

“The only thing we’re looking for is if the individual fits the vibe, fits what’s going on in here,” said James O’Hanlon, a founding partner at Full Life Hospitality, the group behind the club. O’Hanlon seems quite concerned with who the club welcomes into its hallowed subterranean halls, targeting guests who might be staying at the hotel and employees of the various start-ups now based in the Williamsburg waterfront area.

The club commences the sign-up frenzy by dropping its slate of DJs for the upcoming weekend every Monday on its website. Applicants usually find out whether or not they’ve been approved within 48 to 72 hours of submitting. This weekend they’ll host Tomer and Mashrik on Friday, March 21, and Anthony Middleton, Cirque Noir, and Starlight on Saturday, March 22. You can see their full schedule here.
