The couple shared the news through emotional messages on social media, revealing the devastating loss while asking for privacy as they grieve with their family.
“With broken hearts, we want to let you know that our little one passed away during the pregnancy,” Noa van der Bij wrote on Instagram. “Thank you all for your love and support. Loved forever. Our son forever.”
Gakpo reshared the message and added his own heartfelt statement.
“This is an incredibly difficult time for our family,” the Dutch international wrote. “We kindly ask for respect for our privacy and space during this period. Thank you for your understanding.”

“We went to church together and lit a candle,” she wrote. “Afterward, we went to the playground with our son Samuel. There was another little boy there named Elijah.”
